"Broadnet has provided a great vehicle that allows us to connect with Sun Devil Nation. We have been able to give our fans exclusive behind-the-scenes interaction with our coaches and players through our TeleForum™ events. The feedback has been tremendous as we have been able to provide new and exciting ways to keep information relevant and cutting edge while leaving fans wanting more. Our renewal and sales efforts have been bolstered with quick and easy connection points directly to our fans to give a clear message and call for action. We have only scratched the surface and look to utilize it in our revenue generating efforts moving forward." -- Steven Hank | Associate Athletic Director of Revenue at ASU
Objective.
Arizona State University needed a vehicle to connect with Sun Devil Nation, as well as provide relevant information about its team’s focus and direction for the future. February 22, 2012 marked the date of the first Arizona State University athletics FanForum with Head Coach Todd Graham, with many more events to follow. Focusing on fan outreach and reengagement, a unique tactic to give season ticket holders an exclusive insight into team operations was sought as part of ASU’s plan. TeleForum™ technology powered by Broadnet was identified as a cost, logistic, time and results effective solution.
Solution.
TeleForum™ technology’s live, dynamic, virtual format offered ASU a powerful opportunity to reach out to thousands of existing and potential season ticket holders, directly connecting them with their coaching staff, past and present players, and directors. Content included: recruiting tactics, upcoming season schedules, student attendance, team position and vision, and many other topics. Intentions were to generate enthusiasm among fans and students and leave them wanting more.
Tactics used to generate buzz and increase participation included: email invitations, a customized voice broadcast utilizing Broadnet’s BoomeRang™ platform, and custom hold music! The platform’s toll-free inbound line was used as well, enabling thousands of fans to dial in and participate! Fans were also given the opportunity to leave feedback in a voice mail at the conclusion of the event, which is truly valuable for follow up and customer service.
Broadnet’s BoomeRang™ platform is also being utilized on a frequent basis by the Sun Devils to assist with season ticket renewals, event updates, notifications and more for both men’s basketball and football. Features used include: polling, live transfers to an operator, and throttling. BoomeRang™ has been extremely helpful for continuous communication to ASU’s top supporters.
Result.
Participant feedback from the ASU TeleForum™ events has been extremely positive. The event successfully created loyalty and a sense of community by making fans and students feel valued and connected to the University, which helped re energize enthusiasm, engagement and renewal momentum. The Sun Devils have future plans to utilize TeleForum™ technology to stay connected with fans, express appreciation for team support and drive direct action throughout the next several years.
